Who we are

The Institute for Healthcare Communication (IHC) is a nationally accredited, not-for-profit organization that has partnered with hundreds of health care organizations since 1987 to train more than 150,000 physicians and other health care professionals throughout North America in effective communication skills.

The Institute stresses the concept that effective communication between clinician and patient is a necessity, not an option, and we will work with health care organizations to provide educational opportunities to make it possible for clinicians to develop the communication skills they need to be effective.
